Ghaya Abdellatif Alwahdanee
Ghaya Abdellatif Alwahdanee has worked for Jordan’s Ministry of Health (MOH) for 19 years and is currently the Head of education and quality control department and Biorisk Management Coordinator for the Laboratory directorate. She is a laboratory specialist part time lecturer for laboratory sciences in many governmental colleges. She is a medical assessor in the Jordanian association for standardization and meteorology. She serves as the Biosafety Officer for the MOH and supports nearly 30 hospital laboratories and 6 public health laboratories in the region. Ghaya works on many topics related to the Global Health Security Agenda and International Health Regulation for MOH and is a certified World Health Organization WHO trainer on all topics related to Biorisk management, including biosafety and biosecurity. She has conducted several workshops for the technicians. Ghaya was awarded a mini-grant from the U.S. Biosecurity Engagement Program for her project titled, “Preventing emerging and re-emerging infection,” that allowed her the opportunity to develop National Biorisk Guidelines for the country of Jordan. Ghaya is also involved in Biorisk management activities in MENA region (International and Mena twining projects).International Federation Biosafety Association (IFBA)a certified.
